Picking up those brushes again.

Hi and welcome to the occasional mutterings of Dave Doc, a military modeller and some time gamer. Gaming and model making has given me a real education, History & Geography(obvious really), Artistry, Politics, Economics, Logistics, Project Management -you try building miniature armies without the last 3.

I will use the blog to record my creations & the odd occasion I actually do some gaming.

I have always been inspired by the aesthetic side of gaming. Playing on well constructed terrain using excellently painted units is always a joy.

Play by Blog - HMS Cutlass joins the fray

I have bagged myself a seat at the Captain table over at Clint's (Anything but a 1) Play by Blog game.  It's a naval Age of Sail game using the Blood, Bilge and Iron Balls ruleset. Each ship is commanded by a fellow blogger. Ray has been made Admiral of the fleet in HMS Badger (what else). The dastardly Spanish are commanded by Cardinal Fran,,,

My lowly charge a 38 gun Frigate - HMS Cutlass - crosses the horizon.

I have entered bottom left of the board.

The Spanish fleet leaves port and the dispersed British fleet work out how best to avoid crashing into each other in the excitement of impending action..

It look like it will take a turn or few before I see any action , by which time the larger ships should have blow chunks out of each other..

Thanks for running this Clint - looks like it should be fun.
